Alloy Care Warranty
We make our pieces to last, and we stand behind how we make them. Alloy Care is our warranty and the free clean and check that keeps it active.
At a Glance
- Made for You pieces (made to order or custom designed, and made by us): a 5-year warranty against defects in how we made the piece, kept active by a free clean and check every six months.
- Ready Made pieces (finished pieces from our studio): a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
- Coverage starts on the day you pick up your piece or it is delivered.
What’s Covered
If anything goes wrong because of how the piece was made, such as a casting flaw, a finish problem or a stone loosened by a setting defect, we repair it free during the warranty period.
- Loose stones. We tighten bezel, prong and channel-set stones free of charge. Stones in these settings can loosen over time, which is one reason the six-month check matters.
- Lost accent diamonds. If a small side or band diamond falls out of its setting on a Made for You piece, we replace it free, as long as the piece has been in for its regular checks.
- Repair or replace. If we find a warranty issue, we repair or replace the defective part at no cost to you.
What’s Not Covered
- Normal wear and tear, such as scratches, dents, worn finishes and the gradual wear of prongs and metal.
- Accidental damage, misuse or neglect.
- Broken, chipped or lost stones, other than accent diamonds as described above. Center stones are not covered, so we recommend insuring your piece. Every piece comes with an appraisal so you can insure it from day one.
- Loss or theft.
- Repairs or changes made by another jeweler. These void the warranty.
Alternative-metal and silicone bands (tungsten, titanium, cobalt, ceramic and others) are covered against manufacturing defects by their maker, and we handle the claim for you. These bands can’t be resized.
How the Six-Month Checks Work
Your Made for You warranty stays active when your piece comes in for a free clean and check every six months. The first check is due six months after pickup or delivery, and each check sets the next one six months later.
- It’s free and quick. Stop by our Cedar Falls studio during open hours; no appointment is needed, and it takes a few minutes while you wait.
- What we do. We check every prong, tighten the stones, clean and polish your piece, and note anything that needs attention.
- We’ll remind you. We text a reminder when a check is coming up.
- Missed a check? Come in as soon as you can. If it has been more than 30 days past the due date, we inspect the piece before renewing your warranty.
Ready Made pieces are welcome at the same free clean and check, and we recommend it every six months for anything you wear daily. Earrings and pendants take less wear and can be checked less often.
Register Your Ring
Pieces bought in our studio are registered for you. If you bought online or aren’t sure, register your ring in a minute so we can track its checks and remind you when one is due.
Making a Claim
- Contact us at 319-290-6116 or aram@alloycustomjewelers.com and tell us what you’re seeing.
- Bring or send your piece to our studio for an inspection by our jewelers. If you ship it, please contact us first: every package needs our authorization, the outside must not mention jewelry or diamonds, insuring it is the shipper’s responsibility, and it should include your proof of purchase. Address it to Alloy Custom Jewelers, 314C Brandilynn Boulevard, Cedar Falls, IA 50613.
- We assess it and let you know whether it falls under the warranty.
- We fix it. Warranty repairs are free. If something isn’t covered, we’ll quote the repair before doing any work.
Also Included With Every Piece
- Free cleaning, polishing and prong checks for as long as you own your piece.
- Your first resize free, within a size or two. Eternity bands, with diamonds all the way around, usually can’t be resized.
- An appraisal for your insurance.
Good to Know
- The warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
- Please keep your receipt or proof of purchase; we may ask for it with a claim.
- Surface finishes naturally soften to a gentle shine with wear. Polishing and refinishing are free, but each polish removes a tiny amount of metal.
- Gold prongs, bezels and channels usually need re-tipping every 5–10 years, and platinum every 10–20 years. This is normal maintenance, not a defect, and we’ll let you know at your checks when it’s coming up.
- Pieces bought before October 8, 2026 keep the warranty they were sold with.
